Vicki to open her door to Bobby means opening a door to her own past, her own pain, and the
secrets that have shadowed her. In a moment of compassion, Vicki lets Bobby in. Thus begins
the painful, terrifying, and ultimately liberating process of undoing the damage inflicted on
the boy. A catalyst for a long-coming re-examination of both their lives, this difficult
situation means it’s time for Vicki to confront her family’s history of sibling rivalries,
intimate betrayals, alcoholism, and mental illness. In revisiting the memories she’s hidden
away for so long, Vicki’s act of kindness for her nephew becomes a brave struggle through the
fog of the past to save each. What emerges is the story of two people’s, stunning growth,
retribution, and redemption.
