Marcia Gay Harden joins "Bad News Bears"

According to Variety, Marcia Gay Harden has been penciled into the lineup for Paramount's remake of Bad News Bears, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Greg Kinnear. The Oscar winner is in negotiations to portray an attorney who recruits Thornton's character to coach a Little League team of misfits. Richard Linklater is helming, with shooting expected to begin November 15th. The comedy will be released next summer. "Bad News Bears" has been scripted by Bad Santa writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa in a remake of the studio's 1976 comedy, which starred Tatum O'Neal and Walter Matthau.

"P.S." to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival

"P.S." will be running at this year's Toronto Film Festival on October 13, 2005. It was previously screened at the Telluride Film Festival and is stated to have a theatrical release in US cinemas on October 15, 2005.

Longing for integrity, Harden praises Kerry

Add actress Marcia Gay Harden to the long list of Hollywood celebrities who are backing John Kerry. In an interview with the Boston Herald published on Monday, Harden, who vacationed on Cape Cod last week, yearned for "honesty and integrity in our political process," praised Kerry as "extremely intelligent," said that "I like that he was in the military...and that he spoke out against what he thought was wrong," and she admired how "he seems to be a diplomat and the world needs that right now."

Marcia Gay Harden joins "American Gun"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden has found her first post-Mystic River role with IFC Films' ensemble drama American Gun. The film is shooting in the San Fernando Valley. Harden joins a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Donald Sutherland, Linda Cardellini and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon. Other names in the ensemble are expected to be announced shortly. Aric Avelino is making his directorial debut on the project, which explores the lives of a set of people and how the proliferation of guns in America has affected and shaped their lives.

Marcia Gay Harden gives birth to twins

The 44-year-old "Pollock" star and her husband, Thaddeus Scheel, had a boy called Hudson Harden Scheel, and a girl called Julitta Dee Harden Scheel, on Thursday (22 April 2004) in New York. Publicist Carri McClure says, "Everyone is doing fine. They're not getting a lot of sleep, but everyone is doing well." The actress and her husband also have a five-year-old daughter called Eulala Grace.

Marcia to read "Pen"

At this years Oscar ceremony, Marcia lost the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, as predicted, to Renée Zellweger's performance in "Cold Mountain". "Mystic River" won 2 Academy Awards for Sean Penn as Best Actor and Tim Robbins as Best Supporting Actor. Marcia wore a blue dress made by Badgley Mischka. Linney and Harden to present at Screen Actors Guild Awards

"Mystic River"-co-stars Laura Linney and Marcia Gay Harden took this year's stage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and presented and introduction to the film's ensemble. Both Harden and Linney were nominated as "Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture" for "Mystic River", loosing out to the cast of "The Lord of the Ring". Tim Robbins won a SAG for "Mystic River". "She's too Young" to premiere on Lifetime Televsion

"Welcome to Mooseport" releases US-theaters

Marcia's latest comedy "Welcome to Mooseport", starring Gene Hackman and Ray Romano, will release US and Canadian cinemas on February 20, 2005. The film will be shown in European countries this Summer. Marcia plays the secretary and love-interest to Gene Hackman's ex-president character.
