Arbor Day and MillionTreesNYC Tree Planting Ceremony

On April 25, Bette Midler, Marcia Gay Harden, Blue Man Group and public officials have helped to plant trees as part of MillionTreesNYC and Arbor Day in McCarren Park, Brooklyn. Pictures from the event can be found in the Image Library.


Marcia Gay Harden joins Safe Kids USA

Marcia Gay Harden will appear in person at a Washington news conference on Monday, April 28th to speak out about accidental injury to children. At the same event, Safe Kids USA will release a new report tracking the children's accidental injury death rate in the U.S. since 1987, highlighting how the nation is doing when it comes to keeping kids safe. Release of this report coincides with the kick-off of National Safe Kids Week, April 26 to May 4, 2008 and the 20th anniversary of Safe Kids Worldwide. Safe Kids also will share a list of the top 10 safety tips for parents that could have a major impact on reducing accidental childhood injuries and deaths.

Marcia Gay Harden joins CBS pilot

Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden is back at CBS, set to play Zoe, a millionaire who buys the newspaper at the center of the Eye pilot "The Tower." Project revolves around journos who not only break stories but also solve mysteries. Harden's no stranger to CBS, having starred in the Eye's "The Education of Max Bickford" soon after winning the Academy Award for "Pollock." She's since also been nominated for "Mystic River." On TV, she earned a guest actress Emmy nom for a stint on "Law & Order." On "The Tower," she joins a cast that also includes Cole Hauser and CCH Pounder. Also new to the cast: Rosamund Pike ("Pride & Prejudice") as Olivia. CBS Paramount Network TV is behind "The Tower," which comes from exec producers Meredith Stiehm and Davis Guggenheim.
